Cindy have you finished Chapter one yet?

My biggest takeaway from Chapter one is that
      1. No one is coming to rescue you or really to help you in any way – YOU are the only one capable of helping yourself or making any changes, bug or small to how you see and are in the world.
      2. People are naturally hard-wired for control. HARD WIRED.

What I am most looking forward to in this book are tactical strategies to accept and move on from the fact that I cannot control other people and am only responsible for what I think, feel and do. It is not that I don’t care. It’s that I cannot control others. PHEW!

Sorry for the delay Kelly! Life got busy the last few days. 1st Chapter hit home, and I feel like I have been practicing “let them” without knowing it. I made a decision a few years ago that “I don’t have to have an opinion on everything”.

With social media, I felt the need to have thoughts on everything. It was overwhelming, and you cannot possibly have quality, educated thoughts and opinions on everything. There isn’t enough time in the day to do the research to ensure your forming an educated opinion based on facts.

“Let them” I feel encompasses even more, and would truly free up time and energy to focus on what’s really important. Personal growth, quality time with family and friends, etc.

I am so sorry it has taken me so long to reply to this. I feel exactly the same way about social media – I have deleted Facebook from my phone and only use SM for work and OCCASIONALLY I scroll Insta – I feel so much better without it! I am going to pick this book back up and start a thread about chapter 2

I am ready with Chapter 2, but didn’t know if I should post here or start a new thread?
